Well photos, videos, and passwords are the eggs I guess. Our laptop went down about the first week of last month. At least we didn't lose all our material and passwords. just couldn't post / upload anything, all fixed up and back at it!!

I hope you got things fixed quickly. Have you tried using an online service to save your items?

I have all my content backed up on two different hard drives as well as an online service. I had my laptop crash with all my content one time and it was awful. So now I take a ton of precautions.

well good that you didn't lose anything Cali. My husband does all my back end and luckily he owns his own computer business so he makes sure everything backed up and secured, so I don't have to worry about losing anything.
Sinfully Sxy One

About 4 years ago our laptop and camera were stolen while we were on vacation. We were doing some site seeing between shooting photos.
I lost almost 50 photoset that had not been backed up yet. We spent a day replacing our stuff.
We learned many lessons from that experience.

I now have two external hard drives that I put everything on so that if my laptop goes down I'm not completely SOL.

I'm lucky that in 16, almost 17 years as a charm, I've only lost a video. My camera card corrupted before I even had a chance to download it. And OMG I was so pissed!
But I take lots of precautions.
PC + External + Laptop + leaving on SD cards till they post. Saving my stuff 4 ways.....just in case

Back up backup. I have just lost my hard drive this year but lucky I was able to recover everything. It wasn't my computer it was my external hard drive. My backup per say. I have onlne and external hard drives. I have a file I keep all my passwords on. I have been lucky and have only lost 1 video and photo set in all my time as a charm and a photographer. Lucky I haven't lost any clients content. But I do save on card until I have saved, doubled checked that they are on the back up drives.

Yeah I learned the hard way! An external HD took a dump on me and it costed me nearly 1k to send it out to lab that could extract the data back for me.

The more effort or value I put into things, the more places I keep it. I have back ups of old photos on 3 seperate hard drives, plus a DVD... incase anything gets lost etc. with some things for work, I'll even e-mail it to myself...
I'm sorry your having issues... good luck!
