I also think a rating system for new charms updates would be appropriate. A fair number of charms start and end during the course of a year, it is disheartening to see so many not last. I am sure some get discouraged with putting in an update and not getting attention or fans. A rating system could help a new charm find out what is working in her updates, and what needs to change. Maybe for the first 25-50 updates. Also there are dozens of Charms with a world of knowledge in hosting a site. I think SC should offer mentoring to the new Charms , done by veteran charms, like say Italian Lace and others. That way if they have questions , concerns or need ideas, they would have someone to turn too. Would be something that is offered, but not required. Just an idea....
I just wanted to add a little info on these suggestions:
If a charm leaves, as in quits her site and requests that it be removed, she won't appear in the "all charms" list which is tabbed on the SC Main page. So no need to wait for a posted list, anyone can check daily for their favorite charms status: if her thumb pic is gone, she's gone. If a charm stops updating she gets moved to the inactive list. Which means that she won't appear in the All Active Charms list, but she will appear in the All Charms List.
As to the rating system, I'm not sure what you are describing. However, All charms have the ability to check their member sign ups and can use that information to determine what's working.
And the mentoring? That is and has always been, available to all charms ...New and and Experienced charms. Each charm has access to a place on the web to be able to ask questions, share helpful information, including update ideas, video ideas, and keep up to date with everything having to do with running their site.
