So I am 50 years old and last week I was back up to 189lb. Not happy!! This is the last year of school for the little one {not so little any more} and then we are empty nesters. My hubby said it's ok to become a gym rate if I want too. I want to get stronger. I want to be able to mountain bike again and hike and run races again. So with that I go to the gym a lot more. I lift weights and do more yoga. the treadmill and stair climber is getting some time too. I have gone down to 181lb. in a week. So very happy with that. It might be no chips and cakes but I will take it. I do like going to the gym. I have seen that I have mussels in my arms that I didn't have 2 weeks ago. I wonder when my fans will see them too. I bet it would be when I an closer to 170lbs. My tummy looks different too. Well I hope you will stick with me on the new path of strong 50's. You can get strong too.

Another morning at the gym. Forgot my gym shoes so no treadmill for me. I added more reps to my weights. I'm a bit sore .

Congratulations!!! I to have made my way back into the gym the hardest part for me is making sure I get enough protein daily so I am supplementing with protein shakes to try and reach my daily goal of protein intake.

I lost about 25 pounds in last 6 months to get down to my target weight.

Weight training is great but diet probably played a bigger role. Cut out unhealthy snacks, and kept meals under 1000 calories. Also can't forget making sure you get enough sleep.

I pretty much eat what I want on weekends but I also ride my bike for a couple of hours which helps even it out.

It’s hard to resist junk food that’s at your house. Much easier to resist it at the store and save some money as well.
