Most of your basic photoshop programs have a 'Greyscale' option that converts photos to black and white. My Jasc software, which is at least 5 years old, also has an 'Aged Newspaper' option that lets you back the photo up in appearance. I'm sure the newer programs are even more advanced. That second one may be what you are looking for.

That 'aged newspaper' option does that for me.
Here is an example using the same picture but using the age 25 years option...with a charm I always found particularly exciting :)

The program I use is Jasc Paint Shop Pro. I have a version 8 which still works well for me...I'd love to upgrade but those programs are now so ridiculously expensive that unless I was to do a lot of professional editing rather than fun editing like I do, it wouldn't be worth it to purchase.

Reason I asked is because I use Photoshop for most of my normal editing and Lightroom for my batch editing/processing..

try picmonkey.com
Although I have photoshop, I use picmonkey for its variety of editing and effects.

I was in my 20s in the 70s. We had color photos then. Even polaroid's in color LOL.
Gee went to my proms in the 60s and still have colored photos from then.
Then again I have photos from the 50s and guess what there fading, but there color.

I am starting to feel old now, I didn't think the 70s were vintage yet.
To me vintage in the 30's and 40's.

In photo shop there is a desaturation that takes out color. I have a version
from 1998 so it doesn't have all the new things, but has that.
