I love being in front of the camera and I have a lot of fun doing it, but it is also a lot of work. You don't just decide to shoot an update, at least I don't. I have to decide on what to wear, where to shoot it, what I want the update to portray and then the actual shoot takes a lot out of me. Posing isn't easy, try it sometime in stiletto heels in a 100 degree temperatures or the humidity through the roof or so cold outside you're gettin goosebumps while shooting inside. Its not cheap either. Not if you want to look really sexy. The lingerie and shoes are enough to break the bank sometimes. But is it worth it? Damn Straight!!! As for changing my life? I went from a lady with poor self-esteem to one who can walk down the strret with a spring in her step and if you don't like BBWs tough, because I'm sexy as hell and I have the fans to prove it. Even though the economy has taken a big bite out of what I make, it still gives me the money to indulge in somethings I wouldn't be able to other wise, remember those shoes and that lingerie I was talkin' about? I have a thing for both and without SC I wouldn't have either. I love what I do and apparently enough of you do to to keep me in front of the camera.

Being a charm has helped me be a LOT more open with my sexuality ... got me to try a lot of new things in my sex life. And I keep learning and learning about new fetishes which is kinda interesting, there are tons of things that I never would have thought of! :P
Ahhh I remember the days where I couldn't say the word "sex" without blushing ... lol!

Thank you for making this thread! I LOVE being a charm! I've been excited since day one. It's really great to be able to express my sexiness and have people really appreciate it. I love the friends I've made through fan emails. Getting to know my fans is the very best. I can't wait to reply to my emails! I especially love doing custom photos or videos because when I send them to my fan and the fan is so happy to see a job well done it's.. Well it's almost like Christmas for that little second! It's making someone happy, and I love that. Not even just through customs though. When I get emails (and now posts on this board too) from people who are happy with a photo set or video it makes me really excited. I've always wanted to be a charm, since I heard about it when I was 17. It's a dream cum true! Hehe.

The only bad part about being a Charm is when I get hate mail. It really makes me sad when people message me about how they hate my chubbiness, the way I paint my toes, my hair, my piercings, or anything like that. I don't get them very often but sometimes mean people email me and I just don't see why they bothered. Why try to hurt my feelings, you know? There are plenty of other girls on SC (and some GREAT guys), so go find someone you like!

I think there are alot of ways been a charm changes your lifestyle, instead of poseing for a few pics now and then for hubby I Have to plan out Updates and shoot time to fit them all in. I also have accumilated a vast wardrope of clothing and underwear and more uniforms than I can fit in a sack, not that I mind I love been a charm, and it certainly makes your sex life a little more fun, all those new toys and objects to have fun with.

Good topic and great insight from some of the SC gals. What saddens me is what Rosie touched on, getting hate mail. Couldn't imagine sending someone a message to be negative. What is the point? SC caters to all tastes. There is no need for anyone to message someone in a negative way. They must have some serious self esteem issues to go to that length. To those SC gals who have received messages like that, keep doing what you are doing. :)

There's so much that we trade off when we decide to have a bit of fun on the Internet. For the most part, pretty much every member of my family will no longer be able to run for public office - wife is a porn model, Mom is a porn model, sister is a porn model, daughter is a porn model - you get the idea. We open ourselves up to a whole level of criticism that other women don't, as Rosie pointed out. I think we've all received some of the most hateful and disgusting emails anyone can imagine. I've been accused of wrecking marriages, frequently asked how much I charge for various sex acts, where I am dancing next, what drugs I take, etc. But that's the "charm" of the Internet, anyone with access can dish out just about anything they want and remain anonymous.

Some people will never accept that everyday, normal, decent "girl-next-door" types have fantasies too.

For me, I love and hate what it has done to my relationship with my husband. We joke that we now share a mistress in our marriage - the camera. Lingerie used to be something just for special occasions, now it comes with photographic expectations. But don't get me wrong, the excitement that being a Charm has brought to my marriage is 10X more rewarding. It has helped me discover so much about my sexuality and opened my mind to a much more exciting lifestyle.

In my real life I am very much a science geek. But I think being a Charm has helped me "mature" and find a lot of sexual confidence in and out of the bedroom. I would have never imagined being able to connect with the guys - online and in person - the way I do now. But knowing that my husband is so supportive and encouraging of me to be sexy and stylish away from the camera is amazing. To know I can flirt and carry on without fear of jealousy or 20 questions every day - I can't express how lucky that makes me feel, especially when I see the marriages of my friends and coworkers crumbling over almost nonsensical things.

One thing I struggled with for a long time was having this hobby and having it always be a secret. You do something for 10 years and can't share it with coworkers, friends, neighbours. Yeah, we think we can, but we really can't. I told one of my best friends from high school - someone that shared deep, dark secrets with me all the while growing up, that I laughed with, cried with, shared dreams with, all that - so, once she learned about my hobby, she never called me or visited again. So I hid this for a long time. Now I have a very special friend at work that I finally opened up too, and he loves it. Rarely visits my site, but is so supportive and cool about it.

In the end, being a Charm has allowed me to discover an awful lot of new things about me, my dreams, desires, fantasies. Even with the challenges, I wouldn't trade that away.

Andee,
I know we have chatted about this very thing a number of times but theres a whole bunch of us who are way more grateful for the choices you have made. Politics, as we have also chatted on, isn't worth much anymore...liars, cheats, swindlers and swine. You're doing better by changing our dismal lives one sexy photo at a time. And damn you got some sexy photos!!

I love doing the shoots but I always feel embarrassed that my photos are never as bright or clear as other charms. Practice makes perfect. Otherwise I get really excited when I think of a new photo shoot idea and can't wait to shoot it and get it posted.

I've been a charm since 2004, so obviously I feel the "pros" far outweigh the "cons".......

Lets see...........

-Pros-

Getting to dress up in things I never would have thought I'd wear! I mean what typical 50 year old grandma wears latex, pvc and thigh high boots? It's allowed me to toss away that typical sterotype that tends to follow middle aged housewives and have fun!

I think it's made me more creative sexually. Being a charm as definitely taught me alot of things! I enjoy discovering the various "fetishes". And as a result I enjoy a very active and pleasureable sex life! Although I've always been into outdoor flashing, nudity and the titilating feeling of sex outdoors, I'd never imagined things like standing in a shower fully dressed, struting around in slutty boots or slathering my body with baby oil could be such a turn on. Becoming a charm made me realize just how much I enjoy being watched while undressing, masturbating, etc and the camera (SC fans) has become my audience.

I've "met" alot of interesting, sincere, and nice guys through my SC site. One has even become a very close friend. I really enjoy venues like this forum where I can just be myself and "talk" with people that have the same interests as me. And I'll admit, the compliments some guys give me are just icing on the cake ;)

I've gained alot of new gal pal friends via the charm circle. Some more deeper than others, but all of them special and treasured.

My confidence level has increased tremendously! Previously a shy, mousy type, I feel my SC site has helped me overcome that awful feeling of low self esteem.

I now look at things differently. Like when I see a new park or I rearrange my bedroom, or paint a wall, or buy a new piece of furniture, or get a new outfit...........I always seem to figure in the thought, "Hmmmm, now THIS would make a good photo shoot" Normal typical things aren't boring anymore.

-Cons-

Since I always update reguarly, sometimes it's difficult to make sure I have a new update for the week. I'm not immune to the flu, or unexpected life emergencies, but it's apparent that regular updating is what keeps the fans/members happy. And I don't think that some would be too understanding if I miss a week of updating. So that is a stressor and I feel rushed when something happens. There have been times when I've been shooting an update the night before to get it sent in to SC to be posted because events or illness kept me from getting it done sooner. I always carefully select the photos that are included in my updates. Trying to not repeat poses, and weeding out the bigtime bloopers! (Yeah, I usually have alot of those!) So for me, it's not as simple as just shooting the pics and uploading them.

There are certain things I don't want to wear. Things that I don't feel sexy wearing. And yep, I'll get a request for that thing......It's a mindset for me, to slip on something that I dont feel sexy in and have to become sexy for the camera. I'm not a good actress at all and sometimes I'm a little "stiff" looking at first, but luckily with the support of my husband, I can eventually loosen up and have fun.

Keeping my charm life a secret. Although my close family knows (including my parents) I find that it's not something I can discuss at the neighborhood block party! The IRS considers me to be self employed. Imagine buying a car and filling out the loan application and having to try and explain your "self employment" income! I've become adept at that over the years though and so far have successfully evaded having to state flat out that I'm a porn model! lol

Sometimes I get emails from fans that are very demanding and bossy. Insensuating to me that if they join, they expect: A, B, C, etc. This always irks me. I mean if they join, they are getting nearly 600 photo updates! Plus they are getting TONS of wmv clips (I share my SC videos with my members via compressed wmv clips in updates) Just because a guy joins doesn't mean he's entitiled to tell me what to do or boss me around. So emails like that are very annoying. Geez, for the price of two McDonald meals he can have a month of enjoyment! But it doesn't mean he owns me. I usually reply back and whle trying to be nice, firmly let them know that I'm not for sale and I'm not going to be pressured by them if they join and that I don't make deals for their membership. If they have a request that I would enjoy, then YES I do it for them and I make sure to do it during their membership. But don't join and then expect that I'm gonna jump through hoops!

I also hate the emails that say, "I noticed your profile on SC and would like to know where you live so we can get together." Or, "How much do you charge for....." Or the emails from guys that seem to think I live on my computer and I'm at their beck and call 24/7! Most annoying are the emails from guys who have obviously never even looked at my site and are filled with personal and erotic questions that they expect me to answer..........

I'm a very open type of person, and for security and my safety, there are alot of things I have to keep "secret". But I try to be honest and truthful on my site. I have to refrain from sharing things with my fans, but not come off as looking dull. Sometimes it's a balancing act.
Which leads right back to the biggest con, mentioned above........ that I have to refrain from sharing my SC stuff from friends. Most would not understand and most would judge me.

I have been a charm sense 2009! Looking back it has changed me! My hubby too! I become more sexual! I loved sex but now I feel horny all the time! I have met a few charms and gents! Had lots of fun! I had my first threesome with two guys! I loved it! Had to do it some more. I feel more open with who I am! I keep SC from my family! My husband told a few of his co-workers about what I do. Theres more work to it then I expected! A lot of time and money to it too! I have no charms near me so its mostly solo! So I have to get creative and keep things new! Lingerie, heels, make up, camera, setting up props, planning what to wear where to shoot! I love it and is the best choice I've made. I have made many new friends! I learned a lot of things too! I am glad I became a charm!

I am a different person sort of. I did not like my body as much 7 years ago. I started out doing this just to have fun and I still am :)
I love doing this, it is what keeps me going. It is my fun time :d
I could not show as much back then. I tried really hard when I was younger to be something I am not. I tried to fit in and be skinny lol a fat girl tiring to be skinny I can laugh at myself now. But it is sad, I was that way. I wish all big girls could do this just once so they could know that you can be who you are, curvy and nerdy and it is awesome. Most people dont look down on you they love it. It helped me love myself and I so thank SC for that. There is awesome charms on here and one is even my sister. I love what I do, I love looking for new outfits and being sexy as a big girl.
It is awesome!!!
Thank you SC for my charm life :)
