I disagree completely. For $14.95, you are not buying ownership of those photos. Legally, the photographer owns those photos and they are licensed to Southern Charms. What you are buying is ACCESS for one month to the member's section photos. I look at it like an All-You-Can-Eat Buffet. While you are there you are welcome to consume as much as you can to your heart's content, but you wouldn't pack a doggie bag to take home for later. Why? Because if everyone did that it would put the restaurant out of business, however, you're welcome to come back again tomorrow (or in this case next month) and buy access again so you can consume for another whole month. That's fair.
Now, what do you do when your favorite restaurant closes? Sure, you may miss their eggrolls, but you go find another... maybe one with a sushi bar! After all, there are almost a thousand to choose from. Incidentally, the number one reason that a Charm closes her site is because it ceases to be profitable, which means that your fix is actually part of the problem. If you love a Charm and would be sad if her site suddenly disappeared one day, then the best thing to do is to be a steadily rebilling member, because your financial support is what keeps her site going. I'm afraid that when the option to mass download content is there, the incentive to rebill is not, and that is not good for business.

About the download thing, this is a transcript of one part of the User and Membership Terms and conditions:
"D. You also understand and agree that any material and/or data downloaded or otherwise obtained through the use of the SITE or any of the materials contained therein is done at your own discretion and risk and that you will be solely responsible for any damage to your computer system or loss of data that results from the download of such material and/or data. "
This is only one part on the terms where it is assumed download is not only acceptable, but offered. So it's my understanding that making a zip file of the content would only bring comfort to the members, as they will download anyway the photos and videos anyway, with or without the zip feature. I don't think that would discourage members to renew subscriptions.

Well. Perhaps the comparison wasn't very adequate. You should compare with watching a movie on the theater, for example, where you see the movie in that span of time and that's it.
The purpose of the site (My point of view) is to provide more than that. more like a DVD store. The videos part of the website is much clear on that. You pay for the video and you download the video.
