BETTY PLAYING WITH BROWN BILL IN THE WOODS

The English have this interesting farming tool called a billhook.
(well, pretty much every farmer everywhere has a version of this!)
And when their king would have another go at turning the French into Englishmen, he would of course 'invite' his subjects to come along to keep him from feeling all lonely over there.
And farmers being farmers, they brought their 'brown bills' with them.

One of the modern versions is called a 'ditch blade bush axe', like what I am holding.
I have seen the tool in my hands in this Update cut down 3 inch poplar trees in one swipe.
I don't even want to think about what it can do to people and horses!
But it sure does do a great job of clearing out my land!

Safer than a chainsaw, and no noise!

Maybe someday I will show my members how far the handle can go in me.
