I use twitter. But i don't think it matters much.

I think the best thing you can do is update daily. Whatever site you are on they usually have a recently updated page. I think most fans go to the recent update page to find the newest stuff. IF you make sure you are updated on that page you will be noticed.

Yes! Frequent to daily updates are what has worked best for me. Plus I like giving everyone something new to look at more than just a few times a month like I used to do back in the day.

I've been a charm since 2004 and I don't promote my site with any outside advertising.

Maybe that's surprising?

I believe Hawks Feet Links promotes me with my permission. But other than that? You won't find any Sultry Serena advertising on the web.

I had a twitter account for a month or so years and years ago. But I closed it when I decided I wasn't willing to spend hours each day on it. Choosing instead to converse with my fans and member more personally via emails. I like getting to know them and when I answer emails it's a straight one on one thing. I also like to use this forum and text on my site.

I've seen SC's advertising and I doubt that I could do anything better than SC provides for the entire site. True, SC doesn't promote my site specifically, however I feel that even if a charm promotes her specific site, when a guy comes to her site via a link from her advertsing, chances are that he's not going to join immediately and will instead check out the smorgasborg of girls the SC site has to offer before selecting one he's interested in.

I have had this same mind set for years. As a busy mom, wife and working a full time job on top of my site.... it is a lot of work to try to promote outside. Especially with my husband's deteriorating health. I wish I could get the fan board to work on my cellphone properly and I would be able to check it more often and on the go like I do my emails. Now, I did just restart on Twitter. Nothing major, but mostly I just post my live updates. I turned my DMs off though because they got CRAZY. I can answer emails easier than DMs and unfortunately I cant give the devoted attention someone who DMs me wants. So those had to be turned off. Other than posting my new updates and videos though, I don't see the point in Twitter as much?

And you are right, SC as a whole does a crap ton of advertisements.

I do understand your point of view but if we all would still work in the way as 2004 we wouldn't have any customers on here. 2004 there were only view sites in the adult industry, there were search machines and with 10$ one could do a google add and gain new customers. But nowadays google is hardly affordable way for a website to get traffic. And TRAFFIC is the magical word. The site and also you need new traffic to your profile or sales would break off and won't increase.
Also just look back some years, noone knew that we would ever access the internet sitting in the fields looking at a mobile. Men are in the office, looking at twitter and facebook seeing what's new. Especially the last 3-5 years the numbers of adult website has increased by a high number. So tweeting is not just a thing about does someone buy your membership or mine. Tweeting, facebook and the other social medias is about does someone click on Southern-Charms or Pornhub, Brazzers, Xhamster or whatever. The competition is massive.

So thanks to every girl that tweets daily the site gets TRAFFIC.

And yes, the may buy your video instead of mine. But that is not the issue as he may have decided that he loves bigger boobs, black hair or your sparkiling eyes - whatever. The main thing is that he becomes a member of the site and then he will search daily updates and who knows at a later stage come to me again. It is all on the amount of new men we get to the site to keep the site running.

Some of you may also think and why shall I retweet and mention others. I want only my members, my fans and don't want to market otthers. I restarted to do more tweets in 2016. When I looked around I've seen accounts with 30k, 50k and more followers. I looked what are they doing? Mentioning and retweet.

So for those who don't understand why retweeting, mentioning and comments are important here a short explanation:

Let's say my twitter profile is my house door. I will put some of those little notepads on my door, those Post-it sticky. I will write on them today @HotMature50 done a new video. Everyone who walks past will see my post at my door. But the ones in the next road, village or country won't know anything about it because they never walk past my house. So somone will take a sticker from my door and put it on his house door in the village - the other one will take it home to US and stick it there on his door. So that is retweeting. And the more "stickers" are on different doors (retweets) the more peoples will see that I have done a new movie, see my profile name and come back to me.

That means if you walk allone you won't win in nowaydays fast internet business. I have grown in 12 month around 10k followers by mentioning others, liking, commenting, adding hashtags. You don't have to do that like me 2-3 hours a day as I earn money of other sites by bringing traffic to them so called affilaters. But if you do 5 tweets every day, retweet 5, mention 5 accounts (best accounts who also retweet) you will see your income rising.

I hope I could give you a new view on todays internet. It is a big soup of sites and every sites needs massive traffic to survive. Don't think when tweeting where they will buy, if and when. Real fans will always stick to you but yon the other site oung men like to "jump" around" once here on SC then on other sites or profiles.

Hahaha my husband just says that is like real life the over 60 stick more to one - smile

Ive learned with Facebook my fans become friends. They get to know "me". They have become close. I receive gifts, cards, and made new friends. It never happened before making my facebook. They feel a connection that way. Some I had met on myspace back in the day. When something happens they reach out to me. They message me when I update. On twitter its less personal. I tend to stick to my links and hashtags. I have more followers on facebook then I expected. I heard so many clicks gets one member. It was a lot. So I think as many places we can post our link is helpful.

I tend to keep my Southern Charms persona and personal persona separate. I mean, I have a kid and that doesn't really go with porn. With the face recongnition software have you had issues with FB at all? Most of my family doesn't know about my side hustle and I would hate for old uncle George who is in his 80s to have a heart attack because he saw his sweet innocent niece on a porn site. LOL

I've wondered about the face recognition thing. Even before this technology though there was always a risk that a family member might buy a girly mag or a blue movie and recognize a relative. However the same dilemma exists now as it did then - your relative would be fessing up to indulging in such salacious material. On balance they might prefer to keep that knowledge to themselves ;)

I recommend doing as much fetish stuff as you can as a further guarantee against such exposure. "Why Grandpa, what are you doing looking at pee porn?" is a tough one to answer. Honestly, I have no ulterior motive in offering this advice :-

Abby,

I'm not disagreeing with your thoughts at all. I do understand the importance of advertising.
However there are some who enjoy social media and there are others who don't.
I happen to fall into the second category. I don't use social media as Serena, nor do I use it in my regular life.

I prefer the one on one more personal interaction that this forum and email provides. And I appreciate the fact that word of mouth from one human to another is a very strong force in advertising. Sure you can post something about yourself on the web in various banners, posts, likes, tweets.......

But a recommendation from one guy to another about you carries more weight in my opinion.

With that said, I do appreciate all those who enjoy social media and spread the word about SC with their advertising. I don't disagree that my site probably does benefit some from that advertising. However, I think each of us has something to offer in order to keep SC a popular site. And to be successful at something, I believe you should do what you enjoy. For me that is this forum. Spreading word of this forum and encouraging more fans and charms to utilize this part of the social media landscape :-) I think this forum offers a more real environment for fans and charms to interact with each other. As you say in Twitter, you put a sign on the door type of thing. My goal would be for this to be a place to learn about each other. As I've stated earlier, it's "one on one" type of thing, and mass social media is more of a group thing.

With that said, I don't believe any of us "walk alone" in this big big land of the internet. We benefit by the sheer size of the SC site and the amazing business sense of the owner who provides us with this amazing platform to share our sexy sides. Thank you SC! With over 800 charms on the site, each of us brings something to the table in our own way, either with our bodies, our personalities, our fetish styles, etc. which has allowed SC to continue to grow over the years, even with all the competition.

So again I say thank you to the tweeters and the facebook, Instagram, googlers etc...….And thank you to the loyal fans, and thank you to every charm who puts herself out there on the big wide web. Each of us provides advertising in one way or another.

I always figured there was a risk. My parents know because my ex best friend decided to tell them in a fit of jealously over my husband being in the hospital during her wedding and I didn't get to spend the whole weekend fawning over her bridezilla self. But the rest of my family doesn't. They all use Facebook and none of them use Twitter so I am on Twitter but haven't made a FB because it makes me nervous. All of my friends know about my site, so that was never an issue. But my family is a bunch of judgemental assholes sometimes.

I'm sorry to hear that. Astonishing how mean-spirited your ex-friend was in revealing something you had entrusted with them.

To me the key points are you choose to do what you do on SC of your own free will and does no harm to yourself or anyone else. So what anybody else thinks they should keep to themselves unless you ask them to share it. You bring great pleasure to many in what you do and heaven knows there are days we all need a lift. And you make such a cute Panda :d

I love my panda onesie! I seriously wear it on cold days around the house. Not just a costume.

Luckily my parents just told us they dont want to know about it and they arent going to ask any other questions. My husband and I were like "ok". But they keep our kid on our shoot weekends so that is always nice. ;)

Sure Serena I totally agree on keeping SC very personal with emails and keeping in touch with your customers. It is important to become an unique touch. But if a girl is new on here how can she get loads of sales if there wasn't twitter and facebook to spread the message. So I think it is a mix of both - looking after your customers and advertising to get new ones on board.

Don't have any other websites but I do webcam shows on CamSoda (https://camsoda.com/vanillacupcake) and try to send people to SC through there. Also tried Twitter but they seem to not like my posts too much as I've been removed by them before.

Was thinking about doing some posts on YouTube (non-nudity of course) telling people to visit me on SC but haven't gotten around to doing it yet.

I have been on SC for 12 years now and I don't advertise my site, but the best form I find is regular updates and I have only missed two or three updates in 12 years and this was due to SC being closed, and even then they have got posted as soon as SC has opened again.
