What to do with the leftover turkey??

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope it was a wonderful gathering of family, friends and food for everyone!

Turkey, it's the hot...or now cold, topic of my morning...

How can I turn this into something tasty?

Turkey Salad works for me because I'm a chicken salad girl.

Any ideas for casseroles? Share what you do with your leftovers...

I gave 99% of my leftovers to family to take home with them
Keeps my fridge clean, and I don't have to worry about too many leftovers.

Leftovers,
Open face sandwiches,
Soup - noodle and rice with peas and carrots
...and whatever is left after a few days, that I don't freeze or can for later use, goes to feed my birds (chickens, ducks, guineas), so nothing goes to waste.

My husband makes turkey pot pies the day after. Then we don't have a lot leftover.

That's very smart Serena! I do that with a lot of stuff too, I had to freeze some sweet potato casserole, I really overachieved this year!

I do like the soup idea, I'm all about soups especially if I can fit in peas and carrots. Very nice!

Other than use for sandwiches, Hubby makes turkey noodle salad. Hubby also fries it with hashbrown potatoes for breakfast

As far as the above goes, I'd advocate for chili and sandwiches/wraps. Or if you are being creative, Thanksgiving pizza is really nice. Dough base, use gravy as the base sauce, the meat (shredded) and stuffing as toppings. When pizza is hot add the cranberry on top. You can add cheese/veggies/diced sweet potato/anything that tickles your fancy as well if you like.

We made turkey vegetable soup...and of course, leftover turkey on white bread with mayo, salt and pepper.

Send it home with other people. We made a pie with it. we watch to much British baking shows. So we decided to do a leftover pie.

I get so turkeyed out by the weekend I dont usually take any leftovers with me. I've heard of people who have made turkey soup with the leftover turkey or sandwiches though.

Turkey leftovers for like 2 days the feed the rest to the dog as a treat.

Usually there is so much family around there is not much for leftovers.
