The Australia race was certainly a different spectacle with the new rules and regs. There seemed to be far less emphasis on the tyre strategy but it was fun none the less.

On an alternate racing note, the F3 and F2 got off to a great start in Australia too. We (hubby and I) were particularly interested in how well Colton Herta got on in F2 as he's walked away from Indy Car (which we also enjoy) to do [hopefully] F1 but for that he needs a Super Licence so has to do a season of F2 to gain one. He finished P7 in the Feature Race from a P14 start, so not too shabby for his first full race and finding his feet we thinks.

And another US driver to watch is Ugo Ugochukwu in F3 who absolutely dominated the Australia F3 weekend. You won't miss him, he's about 6' 12" and weighs less than my right leg!

The F2 and F3 races that were scheduled as support races in the Middle East have been kicked down the road to Miami and Canada instead. Should be fun!

How come Amy? I thought the inaugural Vegas race a few years back with Sainz being clever backing up the chasing car behind him into his team mate was good racing and the races since have been very watchable.

I miss the forest part at Hockenheim but sometimes things have to move on.

In order for the sport to recoup its monies, it needs an american audience especially as Liberty Media is an american comapny so the races there are inevitable. It didn't go too great in the old Bernie days as we all remember the 2005 Indianapolis race with the 6 car debacle.

There of course are other circuits in the US they could use but watching the Indy Cars, a lot of those aren't up to FIA standards.
