20+ years for me. My brother had cancer, and visiting him every day in the cancer ward made it very hard not to think of all those people dying from lung cancer when I had a smoke. I also wanted to quit before I had my first child. Unfortunately, I don't have any good advice. For me, it was motivation and getting back on the horse every time I fell off. Kind of like that Tubthumping song, I get knocked down, but I get up again. You're never gonna keep me down...
