how is everyone doing in this crazy world?

I hope everyone is doing well as we venture into a new month~July
here if Florida our numbers are outrageous and continue to rise
so pray for us.

I shall continue to mask and gear up everyday for work. I can tell
you it saves lives and it does help. I know there is so much controversary
over it and it makes me so sad.

Until you witness and see someone passing from this horrible illness, you will understand
why these masks are so important. Your life will be forever changed seeing this illness
attack all the organs and shut them down. So wear those masks please.

take care and be well
Kathryn

Here in Wisconsin things are getting bad again. We were doing ok to start, but then summer hit, and now we lead the country in coronavirus transmission. Our biggest problem is that the issue has become political. We had a safer at home order, but our supreme court struck it down, so now everyone's hands are pretty much tied and there's no way to stop it.
I'm a chef for a living. My place of work hasn't been able to open for more than take out yet. Since it's a small place the owner has just been running it himself. My unemployment is set to run out soon so I am trying to find a new a job. Since most restaurants in the area are bare bones staff wise no one is hiring. I was hoping I could maybe get a fast food gig, but they all turned me down since my resume is all places that pay multiple times more than their starting wage.
I'ma try Walmart if I can't find something soon. I'm turning 40 in about 2 months. It sucks having to switch careers and start at the bottom at this age. But I'm a good worker so I'll be fine. At the same point I'm kinda pissed we as a society didn't get our shit together more right away, and keep it together. I really loved my job. I miss it. But folks decided to ignore the pandemic cuz they were bored so now we're all fucked longer.
People need to wear masks and social distance and take it SERIOUSLY. Their individual freedom does not include putting other people at risk. We could have kept this under control but didn't due to boredom. I pray for us when a more fatal virus comes along. Our species will be gone SO fast.

Although here in Spain the worst seems to have happened, infections are expanding again, but with a lower level in terms of mortality. It seems that the virus has become weaker, although it is not necessary to lower the guard.
Anyway, we are looking at very rare topics in terms of the information they give us about the spread and we wonder ...
are you telling us the truth?

Just to clarify a point, there is absolutely no data available that shows the virus is weakening. It does seem that the death rate is lowering, but that is due to other reasons. Better treatments, younger and healthier people getting infected. Also unexpectedly the virus has not get altered it's genetic makeup. When/if that happens the death rate could go back up. Here in the USA there is a silent rush to if possible cite the cause of something else as the CoD, instead of the virus. Then faulty reporting is adding to altered numbers. The numbers show that for the last 9 weeks the rate of infections drop 50% and the death rate drops 65% on Sundays. So either the virus takes a break on that day or there is some lax reporting.

Really wish the government would make a decision on stimulus, shut down, reopening, etc. How can a girl make plans when things are open one day then shut down the next
