What Are You Doing This Season

If it doesn't feel comfortable any place else, try slipping it in here.

I volunteer at a local food pantry twice a month. This year, I'm volunteering to drive boxes of food and gifts to needy families. I'm taking my two oldest so that they get to feel the power of giving back as well. I'm not sure how many know that I've ran a small but successful baking business during the holiday season, for the last 7 years. This year is the first year I will NOT be in the kitchen for profit. (This new house's kitchen is postage stamp sized, I swear.) But - we will still be baking fruit cakes, making Rumballs, and some gift tins of cookies to pass out to our neighbors. It's kind of a tradition, and regardless of all the jokes about fruit cakes.. I have converted fruit cake haters into addicts. (some of them are even on this forum. ;) )

iam alone,...so for me, xmas died 12 yrs ago when my dad died...i often go to the downtown core and take bags of cookies to the people lying there! or sitting alone.. (so bad)
iam not one to talk of these things, but i used to take all kinds of food from conferences when i was in charge of set up at corporate events...they used to toss the food or put it in the fridge
i would bag it and give it to the gents lying on the heat grates,in the freezing cold ,when i lived in toronto ont.
as for holidays,...iam enjoying my kitty cat and feeling very happy and content
no drama, no kids,..... just me and nature.YUM
but of course there is more ...just that this is a nice post, and i have my secret
life of giving

Usally I try to find a down on there luck family, someone that is trying and not just looking for a handout, go Christmas eve and buy a couple of hundred dollars of stuff and leave it on there front porch around two or three in the morning, no notes, nothing that will let them know who left it or why. I make decent money so I don't mind giving back to the community I live in. Its not a lot I know but it is something

Every body wants to live in an ideal community, where community members help and support each other. The problem is - people are often so busy searching for that community, that they don't realize the main problem: That community begins with one person helping another. Don't wait to see what others are willing to do for you. Risk a few minutes of your time to be the first person to step up. If each person helps another, they suddenly become part of a community that cares. It truly does have a ripple effect.

Hook, you have the right idea. Giving back to your community is the first step in making your community a place you WANT to live. There's a great phrase that encompasses the idea: Think globally. Act locally.

Ok.. that was enough mushiness. I have to go hit something, or kick a snowman in its face...

Well just a thought and a wish...not sure what I am going to be doing this holiday season, but one thing is for sure; I have been a member and an admirer of the southern charms, both as a fan and even luckily as a participant in shoots and videos (and hope to do more). The charms have been a DELIGHTFUL group; I've been a member of over 30 over time and keep on charm-watching and liking and wish to ALL of the wonderful, sexy ladies a awesome holiday season and a great 2014, in which I hope to meet up with a few more :)

I help take care of my sisters 5 kids financially(and sometimes unfinancially). And this year we did a party for kids clothing, and toys as exchange for re-gifting. In other words, I hosted some parties, inviting many families with children. The invitation said come with clothes and shoes you can no longer wear, and toys you no longer play with. The parents schmoozed with the fine wine and need I say scrumptious small plates I prepared. While they bid on the items with raffle tickets they bought for a quarter. The money went to a food bank and the re gifted items under their trees or near menorahs, etc.
One of my nieces got a very old digital camera of mine, another some barely worn boots from a 3rd grader who grew out of them almost instantly. old video games, coats, dolls, train sets... With new life from another child's appreciation. And much cheaper for this time of extreme distance between the wealthy and the just getting by. End of the year events are fabulous for that new start in the next year!

Thanksgiving was wonderful. Lots of family get togethers and wonderful food. I enjoyed Christmas with my daughter's family. I have a 1 year old grandson who is a blast : ) My 10 & 11 year olds are busy with friends now. I'm looking forward to spending New Year's with them.

I have been busy fostering kittens who've lost their moms, since summer 2012 for a local rescue. Bottle feeding is so rewarding. Recently, I rescued a mom off the street. She had 7 kittens about 5 weeks ago. All healthy and beauties : ) They might have died in the cold we have had here at home. They will be spayed/neutered, vetted and up for adoption after they reach 4 lbs.

Mostly, I'll be studying for my next test. I started school for Pet Grooming, Vet Assistant with Cat Management and Training, and Pet Diet and Nutrition as continuing education programs. I'll also be certified in Pet CPR & First Aid. I've been busy putting together a recipe book of nutritious, natural, home made cat/dog foods and treats. I love cooking for the pets. They love the food and treats : ) They are so much healthier and fur is soooo shiny. I plan to have a mobile grooming, physical therapy, training and pet photography business within the next few years. School will take from 2-3 years depending on how hard I want to work : )

The new year begins with getting my site back up and running after a loooong down time. I have eliminated almost all animal products from my diet. The most surprising to me was trading cow's milk for soy.... LOVE it. So, I lost over 40 pounds and was down to a size 3 from a 14. Thought I was too skinny. Went on a rush gain back up to a size 5 : ) Best time eating ice cream ever : ) Now, to work off the "softness" that came with it : )

My site will be catering more to the pin up lovers out there. Though, I will add some other kinky stuff now and then : ) My daughter is going to be helping take photos along with my current 2 photographers. I made her a beautiful album of sexy photos for her husband for Valentine's day last year. He loved it : )

Wishing all a safe and happy NEW YEAR!
