Anyone an expert on power tools (Impact Driver)?

My son got a double flat last night and had to tow the car home because all the tire places were closed which burned our free tow with the insurance company. So I had to put the car on the jack and take the lug nuts off the tires myself to take to get the tires replaced in our 2nd car and ended up pulling muscles in my back and solar plexus. As I speak I’m in a hot bath trying to ease the pain.

If I got a $40 impact driver with a lug nut attachment, would it be powerful enough to do the job in the future if I needed to fix a flat and have enough torque power to loosen and tighten lug nuts firmly? Or do I need to bite the bullet and get a $150 version?
