A favourite thing in my house. what is your favourite and why?
I'm partial to 'thrillers' rather than 'gore' type movies, bonus points for actually startling me through one. Although I have watched gory movies like Human Centipede.

I'm not a huge fan of horror movies (I'm a wuss) but I'm happy to see most zombie movies (my favorite being Dead Alive), The Host, Battle Royale (which isn't really horror, more like thriller I guess? I dunno), House of 1000 Corpses & The Devil's Rejects, Nosferatu (and other old timey movies like that), and crappy things like Fade to Black and Jake Brooks Monster Slayer.

Do things like Elvira count? Because I muuuch prefer those. :)

We are massive Horror movie Fans Love all the Zombie films, I could go on a long time with all the films I love, but If I got stuck in a spaceship on a 6 month trip to mars and I could only take 3 then My top 3 fave are The Grudge, Halloween 1&2 (origional) and Poltigiest (1&2).

I had heard about that human centipede thing...though I didn't see it, I can think of a few charms that I sure wouldn't overly protest to having my face surgically attached to their ass!! ;)

Elvira is great but much more comedy than horror. I love alot of the older films too. Anything with Vincent Price is definately a classic as are all of the Hitchcock movies.

Love your taste, though the first Halloween is the only one in the series I ever watched. I liked the Ring and Ringu if you like movies like the Grudge. Poltergeist is by far one of the best ever made. Scary without all the gore and fantastic for it's time era.

Lol. You wouldn't say that if you saw either sequence. It definately would not be a pleasurable experience done that way.

The blur between fantasy and reality is one of the better in the genre.

Maybe I'd try superglue on my face and then getting facesat...I could go for a few hours of my face attached to some sweet cheeks :)

Super glue would be much better than what happens in the movies.

First horror that I ever saw parts of and eventually saw in entirity was -

Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte

The Birds
Psycho
The Exorcist (with Linda Blair)

The Grudge
Paranormal Activity 1
Blair Witch Project - the ending still gives me goosebumps
The 4th Kinda
Saw (1 - 6)

I'm not a fan of Paranormal Activity. I much preferred Haunting in Connecticut. I did enjoy the first Saw but repeating the same theme to me pretty much ruins a movie so I never watchd any after that.

I've never really been a big horror fan, as movies don't scare me very easily. But my favourites from the genre would be Hostel, 28 Days Later and The Birds.
Does Jaws count as a horror film? If it does, I love that too.

It sure does. And the first was definately a good one. The series went way down hill after in my opinion.

Of course it did, but most film series do tend to go downhill. I pretty much predicted every single aspect of Jaws 2. I haven't even watched the 3rd of 4th films. The 3rd looks shit and the fth is a complete waste of Michae Caine.

I love old school horror movies, Universals from the 30's and 40's, as well as Val Lewton from RKO studios in the 40's.

My favorites include:

DRACULA (1931)
FRANKENSTEIN (1931)
THE BLACK CAT (1934) perhaps the best ever!
THE MUMMY (1932)
DRACULA'S DAUGHTER (1936)
FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLF MAN (1943)
THE SEVENTH VICTIM

Lots more, but that's a sample!

I loved the old Universals too, I remember as a kid being allowed to stay up on a Saturday night to watch double bills of them.
And the Hammer films of the 50s and 60s were great too.

Gman, I wasn't allowed to stay up that late, but my Grandmother, who I lived with, would always fall asleep during the news, and I would get to stay up to watch a double bill of horror films! They weren't always Universals, but those were usually my favorites. I have a fascination, in particular, for Bela Lugosi!
