@Dictums: You're a skeptic, I get it. In most situations I'm skeptical too. But you don't have to run around shitting in people's Spaghetti-O's. Take it easy Dude. Scott just seems a little concerned and bummed out. Rosie is right, charms and their fans do become friends from time to time. SC is different than other sites and that's why I love it here.

@Rosie: I have to disagree with you a little on this one. I don't think anyone, neither fan nor charm, ever "expects" to become best buddies. Sometimes it just happens. Of course money is likely a driving factor in many instances and there is nothing wrong with that. I just think that there is alot more to the majority of people that are a part of SC. Whether they're a model or a fan. So now that I got that off of my chest, just pm me with some free pics and I'll stop flooding your inbox with annoying e-mails begging for them. :D Kidding

@Sultry Serena: Your contribution to this discussion has been spot on in my opinion. You and I are on the same wavelength. Maybe you should pm me some free pics too. :D Again...kidding.

@blycmike..........Doesn't that suck to lose your post before you submit it? I feel your pain, it's happened to me too and I've been told I'm quite the
'chatty patty' :-@ so some of my posts are chapters......... :d
I definitely don't mind being on the same wavelength as you...........oh and.......Check your pm's.............sent you a totally HOT nude fully spread shot.........JK too ;) :YMDEVIL:

I have some fans and Members that I have become very good friends with over the years.
Some with me since I became a charm almost 12 years ago. We still chat on yahoo and in chat room
a few times a week and some almost every day. I can understand how a fan or Member can
wonder what happens to a charm, just like I wonder what happens to fans and Members I have been
in contact with for years. I think its human nature to worry about people and wonder if there ok.
I know I do.

Serena is right, all Charms and Gents are mods.
And if you've heard this before maybe you should learn the lesson.

Okay, I'm going to add my tuppence worth here. While I don't disagree that there may well be some charms who only chat with their fans to increase their memberships, I also know that the vast majority of ladies who come on this forum are here to spend time just chatting with us all, looking for ideas and inspiration to help make their sites more attractive to potential members, but also just to have some fun and a bit of a laugh.
I myself have spent in total around 24 hours out of the last 3 days chatting with one particular charm about everything under the sun. This particular charm and I have made a very close, and strong, bond over the last 18 months, and I would consider her to be one of my dearest and closest friends.
I guess what I'm saying is, don't tar everyone with the same brush. These ladies may well take their clothes off and perform sexual acts for our pleasure, but at the end of the day, when the lens caps and clothes are back on, they're also people with lives of their own, who just happen to work in the adult entertainment industry.
It does not make them whores or any other derogatory terms.
I love you all, and I am so proud to consider so many of you as real friends.

Wow - great topic! Each of you have very valid points and I was very tickled to read Gman's post. That's awesome. And I love the sense of humor blycmike! Dictums - you're right, for a lot of Charms it is very much a business. For some it is their only source of income, for others it's fun money. And why not? They buy the items they wear, they rent cabins, hotels, beach houses to shoot cool updates in, and spend a lot of time putting their best out there for your enjoyment. Some of us give quite a bit away in our previews which are free...

I stay perpetually busy and there are times when I don't have five minutes to drop in, but that doesn't mean I don't care or don't enjoy your company! I value my SC friendships, both Charms and members, and it does flow into my personal life as I've spoken on the phone with Charms, met and shot updates with Charms, and I've even had updates shot by a member. We've been friends for over 10 years!

Models do everything you do in your day-to-day life and THEN work on their SC sites... we have families, jobs (I used to work 45 hours a week in an office and THEN my web site), vacations, medical issues, central air conditioning that breaks down the same week the fridge stops working in the hottest month of summer... and the ball gets dropped on the e mail...

But we still love you and care.
Too much of a good thing can be WONderful...

You know, I agree with much of what was stated by so many people on here. I can't even start to specifically state what I agree with. One thing I've done over the years is tried to make relationships/friendships with some of the Charms (those that seemed to do that type of thing) and I've made some good friendships (my opinion). I've also learned that just like life, some friendships that you feel are strong, just stop, and you don't know or can explain why. Then there are some friendships that you can go days, weeks, months or even years without reaching out to them and when you do, they reply like you just spoke with them yesterday. I can completely agree with the original post, that as a fan you wonder what happened to people (when they stop posting for a while) or what you did wrong when you send messages and they go with no response. There have been quiet a few that I wonder, did I offend them, what happen to where we use to chat regularly via email and then, NOTHING. One thing I try and do now is not overload any Charms email. I send complimentary emails to the charms that I enjoy, to let them know I appreciate what they are doing and if I get a response, great, if I don't (or they have stop responding), I try and leave them alone going forward.

As a matter of fact, there was a charm that responded in this topic that I use to chat with all the time and for some odd reason, we stopped (I don't know why). I periodically reach out to her and compliment her on her updates, but never hear back and thus, I've just grown to think that I must have crossed a line (on accident) that I shouldn't have crossed and I've basically let it be. Whether its a charm or someone you meet at a bar or someone you work with, you can't control who response to your communications and you have to take those that do and cherish those relationships/friendships and those that don't, you have to move on. I will suggest and recommend though that if that person that you've become a fan of doesn't have the same idea of concept of the relationship, don't get mad, but continue to encourage them and thank them for what they do and leave it at that. Bashing a charm for not responding or not updating without knowing the circumstances isn't right, but not supporting them financially (becoming a member of their site) is what you can do. You can make the choice to support them or not, based on what you deem is necessary. If you aren't satisfied, don't complain about it on a board or somewhere, just life with it. I consider all us (fans of SC) to be lucky because if all the ladies on SC decided to stop, we would not have any of these ladies to admire on SC.

So to all the ladies on SC, I thank you for sharing, I do appreciate it and the fans looking for all the ladies (some of the ladies, any of the ladies) on SC to be your friends or buddies, feel honored if they are (and act like it), but don't be mad if they don't. They are sharing themselves and their lives with us on SC and that is more than we could ask for. Any and everything beyond that, is the icing on the cake!!! Just my thoughts after reading all the comments from Charms and fans!!! Truly think this was a good discussion topic!!!
