So what is your take on the mask with more than half the population being
vaccinated? I am a frontline worker and saw the horrors of this illness
but I also saw people simple common colds and flu die from their immune
systems being compromised from staying in the house and wearing masks!

I was glad to see that Texas did away with the mask mandate and look
their numers are fabulous!

I am for doing away with the mask and if you want to wear it, its your business.

I have been fully vaccinated for a couple of months. But I wear a mask when I leave my house. I also wear my mask while babysitting my young grandchildren

I live in Texas
And the majority of people out and about in stores etc still wear masks. Most businesses require masks to be worn to enter the store.
And yes I agree. Our numbers are great.
Is it from the mask wearing? The vaccinations? Who knows. But it’s not because Texas Gov. has removed the mask mandate. Businesses are allowed to make their own rules. And as I mentioned. They still require masks

It is scientifically impossible to think that a mask stops your immune system from responding : you kiss people without a mask you eat food without masks. A piece of fruit even bottled and tap water contain bacteria. And no mask even the ones we wear for COVID stop all microbes from getting into your system. The Covid masks were never meant to protect you ....they were meant to protect others to stop the particles an infected person could be exhaling and spewing into the air

I feel lucky to have not gotten sick.
My Uncle wasn’t as lucky. And he died a horrible agonizing death. Alone and suffocating.

I don’t wish that fate on anyone.
So I will continue to try and do my part and wear a mask
It’s personal decision and I respect others right to decide. Even if they feel differently than me

The need for mask wearing is still great, greater than the need not too. Data from Michigan showed 293 people got the vaccine and then became infected after contact with a person(s) having the virus, with 4 dying. Then the news that mostly likely a booster shot will be needed in the fall for everyone. One of the makers said they believed that the effectiveness of their vaccine would be 5-6 months.
I will receive my second shot this Thursday, but plan on wearing a mask on at least through the end of the year. My grand girls age 10, and 13 live with me and are not eligible for a vaccine at the moment. Pfizer is in stage 3 trials for 12-15 year olds. After talking with them I doubt the elder would get a shot without the younger. So we will continue to mask up, avoid congested areas, and take precautions. Their mother's climate project in Greenland ends in March and the gals are bummed that our last summer together will be a lot like last year. Still we shall persevere and make the most of it.
