I disagree completely. For $14.95, you are not buying ownership of those photos. Legally, the photographer owns those photos and they are licensed to Southern Charms. What you are buying is ACCESS for one month to the member's section photos. I look at it like an All-You-Can-Eat Buffet. While you are there you are welcome to consume as much as you can to your heart's content, but you wouldn't pack a doggie bag to take home for later. Why? Because if everyone did that it would put the restaurant out of business, however, you're welcome to come back again tomorrow (or in this case next month) and buy access again so you can consume for another whole month. That's fair.

Now, what do you do when your favorite restaurant closes? Sure, you may miss their eggrolls, but you go find another... maybe one with a sushi bar! After all, there are almost a thousand to choose from. Incidentally, the number one reason that a Charm closes her site is because it ceases to be profitable, which means that your fix is actually part of the problem. If you love a Charm and would be sad if her site suddenly disappeared one day, then the best thing to do is to be a steadily rebilling member, because your financial support is what keeps her site going. which falls under normal, private, non-commercial use, however, users are not allowed to download more than 1.5 GB in a 24 hour period and are only permitted to download to a single device, not to be multiplied or transferred. Those are also in the TOS. Since what you are paying for a is a slot of TIME that you have access to a site, clicking to save a single photo at a time is fair use... a one-click download option that allows the user to download entire photoset(s) is quite a different monster. At that point, the user is taking more porn than he can consume reasonably in the amount of time he paid for. I hope you can see my point on this.

I understand where Italian Lace is coming from and all about copywriter and ownership.

I'm looking at it from a "Paying Person" point of view.

If a person is paying for it, they should be able to keep it. Right now it looks like SC is pushing for a "Rental Access" site. I have seen that done in the past and those sites no longer exist.

If SC is going to prevent people from saving the content, think of it from the other side....why am I paying for something I can't keep?

A lot of times people cannot access the site for a number of reasons. A lot of people cannot afford paying monthly and pay to access the site when they can and would like the freedom and access of DL the material for when they cannot access the site.

There are a number of variables I can go into on it and I'm not going to get into that.
