SUGGESTION Box - What does the Fan Box Need??

Ok guys and gals!
What does the fanbox need?
How can we make it a place that everyone loves to hang out?

What can we do to make REGISTERED USERS Log in?

Not sure if everyone knows this little tidbit, but if you log in while you're registered, you can see ALL THE PHOTOS charms attach and post.

Looking for ideas to liven up the place.

Ive been racking my brain over this one Serena.
(I know it doesn't take long lol).
I really don't know why the forum seems so quiet. There seems to be a certain group of charms who do use it - make posts, reply to others etc but its a relatively small group.
I would have thought guys would love interacting with their fav charms on here-obviously some do but again a relatively small number.
Looking at other busier forums I suppose they are more popular because of all the photos & videos on them for free without permissions etc.
At first glance, I suppose it looks like there aren't too many charm pics on here but then once you look at the photo contest page or the new updates page there are quite a few. But maybe Charms need to post more of their free pics on here - maybe outtakes or something that's not in one of their sets so fans feel they have to visit here to see everything? A forum page more blog-like for charms who might want to post something regularly about what they are doing or shooting etc - I dont know if thats possible or whether it would work-im just shooting the breeze here lol.
Maybe an incentive for members to visit more-perhaps a free membership, discount or something for fan box member of the week?
What about if the forum could be made to look more like part of southern charms? Same color scheme, fonts, some pics of charms etc I must admit when I first started on sc I didn't realize the forum was anything to do with sc so maybe that might help.
Hopefully, some fan box members can let us know what they'd like to see more of?
Having said all that- I love using the forum and always find interesting things to read and get ideas etc. I also always post when I have a new set or video going on and im sure that gets results.

I'm sure the "Blog" one can be done. I can make a new thread "Blogs" and Charms can have their own threads to post in....

The forums that allow posting of content without permission are violating copyright laws. Shame Shame.

There is actually ALOT of content charms have posted on here. And it just boggles my mind that MOST DON"T LOG IN. If you aren't logged in as a registered user, then you can't view the content. You can only read what is typed. I don't understand this. Do people not know this fact?

As a fan who often is in the Fan Box, maybe rewarding (even more) those fans that come in and post. Reward the Charms that come in and interact. Give some level of incentive for using the Fan Box.

The question I have is what is the intent of the fan box and what incentive will get people to help accomplish the intent.

I post all the time on here, but I’m different (I often hear). Reward those that come on here and interact and allow those people that come on and look (not registered) to see that Registered Fan (XYZ123)just received a monthly membership to his favorite charm for being interactive. Then have one that says Charm (sexylady) just won increased sales percentage for being interactive on the Fan Box. Send out an email to all the charms to encourage them to be interactive.

I think the monthly contests are good incentives and really re-kick started the fan box for charms, but now there may be a need for some additional incentives to get the charms involved. Giving something to the fans would also help too, but some how the fans that don’t log in or log in and don’t pay attention may not know they have an incentive to interact.

Rewarding good behavior is always a good incentive.

Is there a way of posting small videos on the forum? I was just thinking a model could post a small intro to a new set or video shes made for sc A trailer if you will. Adding to the idea that there is some extra content here on the fan box.

Oh, interesting Has anyone done that? And where was the video hosted? I suppose you could use youtube but then the clip would have to be VERY vanilla.

Great to see this topic. I do log on here when I can and interact as much as I can.
Speaking for myself, Sometimes the time zones can be the issue as in the UK here and miss the US charms
the UK charms I miss, most likely due to work shift patterns for all, this can not be helped unfortunately.
I do appreciate all the charms that take time to comment/post here as I am sure many fans do.
I have messaged and commented myself with numerous charms and have had some replies which is always a boost for me.
I have communicated with some of you for a while now and just love hearing from you when it is possible.

Why it's not good to provide incentives to people to visit/participate/post on the fan box:

You might think that offering a freebie or a discount to guys who participate/post or even visit the fan box is a smart way to boost SC's and your sites' reputation. There are many reasons why this strategy can backfire and hurt in the long run.

First of all, we would be devaluing our sites and also creating a dependency on external rewards, rather than building trust and loyalty with fans based on the quality and value of what SC and you as a model offer.

Secondly, the very nature of SC and each charm site is based on customer satisfaction. Incentives to "enjoy yourself" to those who don't have the desire aren't sustainable. Let's face it, there are guys who enjoy just looking at the pictures, and who don't care about text. There are guys who enjoy chatting with the charms. There are guys who just want to find a quick relief. There are guys who have favorites and follow them for years. There are many many types of SC fans and we can't try and force them to participate here on the fan box IF they don't have the desire too.

We want to find the fans that have a genuine satisfaction and appreciation for SC and our sites. Like the fans that already post here! Once we find those fans, they'll want to stay on their own

Thirdly, we would be wasting resources and energy on chasing short-term gains, rather than focusing on long-term growth and sustainability. We wouldn't be creating a loyal fan base that will support us through thick and thin, but rather a fickle crowd that would jump ship as soon as they find a better deal elsewhere. We would miss out on hearing what our fans like and dislike.

And Lastly, UNLIKE the SC main site, there's no age verification process on the fan box. Legal ramifications could arise for DIRECTLY providing memberships to a porn site to an undisclosed minor. We have no way of covering our butts so to speak on the fanbox.

We don't want to pay someone to enjoy our product. We want legitimate fans who honestly enjoy our content and have a desire to socialize with us on our fanbox.
This is the scenario that would be a win win for all of us who frequent the fan box.

The intent of the fanbox is to provide "rewards" in the form of fans being able to socialize and experience a little more of the SC web site. It's an extension of the SC web site. It's a place where charms can meet up with their fans, and create interest in their sites. Where they can hear what fans like and don't like. Get new ideas. And socialize with like minded adults.

The fan box needs to be entertaining for both sides in order to be successful.

The only thing that "guests" can't see on the fanbox is the files attached. They can't see the photos. This goes back to what I keep asking about............I don't understand why those who are guests don't register and log in. Take the contest thread for instance, when a guest logs in, they must become aware that there are photos there, yet they don't log in........I don't understand what they find so interesting by just the text we post.

I truly wish that an unregistered guest would explain it to me. It's definitely a mystery and it's something that I think is KEY to unlocking why we don't have alot of participation.
And as I mentioned earlier, we need sustainable and growing fans to help us support our sites. Giving someone a free membership isn't going to accomplish that. It's like finding a $20 on the sidewalk. You put it in your pocket and it's made your day BUT do you ever go back to that same spot in the sidewalk and pick up another $20?

Someone had mentioned FanBox Fan of the month and Charm of the Month contests. I believe this was done before. Fans actually were picking a charm I think, and it's been so long ago, but I kinda remember that I may have done a fanbox fan contest?

Anyways, I don't have the time available to run more contests, but if anyone wants to do these contests for everyone that's cool!

So Are we to assume they don't want to sign up because they don't want any kind of details being gathered? In this case they aren't going to go on and become members of our sites or buy videos.
Maybe we have to accept this is more of a charm box rather than a fan box? Obviously, there are some very welcome guys who always pop on and their comments & contributions are great to have. Maybe it's just that most guys don't want to interact with models - just enjoy their membership & buy videos.

Well I don't think it makes guys stick around, HOWEVER, I have, in the past, and on occasion, rewarded my current members with a free video, or a free month membership thanking them for their support. This could be done to maybe get our current or past members interested in the fan box. It would solve the age verification issue, AND it would show our members, current and past, that we appreciate them. While showing them the place they can one on one socialize with other charms.

I'm thinking that maybe we can see if that sentence can be changed to:

I think alot of fans would like it IF they know they can see other photos and charm content along with socializing with charms. But like you, I'm honored to be able to interact with the loyal guys who've supported us for so long both with memberships, and friendships here on the fanbox.
