When to Photoshop and when not to

Postby timboy » Fri Feb 22, 2013 4:32 pm

Many sc models use Photoshop or similar software to improve their photos.
Usually for the wrong purposes, (according to my subjective and personal opinion.)
What I see most of is "air brush" treatment to make skin smoother and hide wrinkels.
To look younger or more 'perfect' and flawless.
But usually that model would be sexier with her imperfections. Esp the more mature women. Lines and wrinkles give personality and force to the image.
And the airbrush makes the pic look so plastic like...

But Photoshop should be used to take away disturbing details, such as a washing label on a bra or panty, or some cable on the floor, etc etc.
See pics below: small details whiped out - a label and an el socket on the wall.

I personally dislike when people edit their photos at all. I always think it looks fake and therefore unsexy. Editing out tags and stuff makes the picture look a little better, but I kinda like the "real girl" feel of stuff like outlets. Makes me feel like I'm really there with the girl. :)

Here are three of my favs - brought together by Photoshop. Otherwise, none of them tries to hide their exciting lines, be it with Photoshop or other tricks. Omg, they are sexy!

Well your post made me remember one thing, I like photoshop if it's used extra ridiculous. Like 'shooping those girls together (that's not mega ridiculous but it's obviously fake) and things like that. I get fan mail where I'm shooped with dicks all over, as a different chick (my face on another body), and eating tiny people, etc. I LOVE that . Too funny.

I personally avoid using photoshop. Even if there is a socket on the wall, I don't bother removing that. I don't see why that would need to be removed. When I'm taking pics, I obviously make sure my floor/background is cleaned up so I won't have to edit anything out. All the editing I do is cropping my pics and removing red eye lol. That being said - if someone wants to use Photoshop, I have no problems with it! It's a personal decision :)

I agree with Rosie - I like the fun, kinda ridiculous, uses for editing software. Things that are obviously fake but they are funny. That's more for fun, not something I'd have on my site, but quite amusing :)

I only use it to crop sometimes and mayve remove something from the background if necessary. I can;t hide the fact that at 76(later this month) I am the oldest Charm with the wrinkles to prove it :YMHUG:

Although my husband has Photoshop, he never uses it to modify the SC pictures. Instead he uses Windows Live Gallery and simply does this to correct the exposure and maybe some cropping. He said it is far quicker to do it this way.

Personally I leave all cuts and bruises in. That's the real me, and that's who I want you to be fantasizing about. I've never had a fan mention any of my bruises but if they ever asked I'd be happy to share the story of how I got them. :)

For instance, I got a little cut on my finger earlier this week when I was cooking. Owch! Would that be distracting if it ended up in my photos? I'm super curious to hear what some of SC's best fans think.

I'm pretty sure my eyes will be occupied on other areas of your person, so I wouldn't find it distracting :)

I personally don't do much in editing with exception that I person HATE 'spots/zits' and *sigh* hate to say it I'm a lady with that problem not due to bad skin care or even really due to eating badly but due to allergies both air born and food wise that cause them any where from face to a arms to boobs to butt... I WILL always edit that out, they are NOT part of me! They are caused by something totally off. Other then that, we are AMATEUR not professionals, why edit things more then needed. It takes away from the whole look and feel. I use to edit a LOT more when I was in my early days but I hated a lot about me. Doing this has given me the confidence I need to accept the things I didn't like 8yrs ago... it made me accept my tunny scars from 2 different keyhole surgeries which are now part of me.

Sure I'd love to be one of these models that has a small shooting studio or just a total room dedicated to just that but I have a small 95 square foot apartment... not gonna happen :P outlits, bad painting job windows or tables are always gonna be part of my updates :P

95 square foot apartment?? I just can't even imagine............my closet it bigger than that......Totally off topic, but how do you ever manage in such a small space?
